Lately I got a picture of 1-dollar US note from a friend. It is cynical somehow. Immediately I connected to my memory about a video projection work called "The White House" by Jeon Joonho, a Korean artist who synchronizes the image of an US 20-dollar note with an image of a person erasing and whitewashing all the windows of the White House aiming to provide a sarcastic gesture to criticize the American imperialism and its global influence with the contradictory and hypocritical attitude towards equality and human rights of the White House; further Jeon stamps his ardent Korean nationalism on icons of US political history that "in small sense, we would like to erase our tragic history by USA; in a broad sense, we would like to make new country where is not affected by powerful countries." Yes, China actually keeps on making herself new, modernized and powerful status. 2008 Beijing Olympic is quite obvious to show how she is running an ardent Red fever, another way of struggling to the outside world...
